And leadership can come from any agent in the system. What I like about Peter Senge’s framework is that he stresses the mastery of individuals. In many management theories organizations are presented mainly as abstract systems. Senge connects systems to behaviors and events. The ability to learn comes from both the system and the individual agent. Change needs leadership so the agent. Not everybody needs to be a change agent, but a couple of influential agent can create a system of the learning organization. Leading by example is a powerful force.
