Yes. I have noticed a drop in interest as well. I think there are two groups of people online: those who like the Internet for how it can be monetized and those who like the freedom, the sharing, the open sourceness of it. I suspect a lot of people of the second group loved Medium when it was an open world. Now that’s it’s pivotting, they don’t like it so much anymore. I was once accidentally banned from Medium and considered re-opening my own blog. Now that the paywall is creating a gated community that question once again pops back into my head.
